Apply after a harsh winter with an early spring feeding with a Scotts® spreader before the 3rd or 4th mowing, when the lawn is dry and before crabgrass appears. Rain, snow, or freezing conditions after application won't affect this product's performance so it can protect your lawn all season long. In addition, the lawn food feeds your grass for a fast green-up after winter. Each 13.35 lb. bag contains enough Scotts® Turf Builder® Halts® Crabgrass Preventer with Lawn Food to cover up to 5,000 sq. ft. of lawn. For best results, lawns should receive 1/4 to 1/2 inch of water from rainfall or watering within 2-3 days after application.
